THE RATIONALE FOR THIS BLOG.

This blog, written in a journal style, catalogues in the first person singular my journey which started some two years ago from Kuala Lumpur  and  ending  in our being ensconced comfortably in Melbourne.

For a mixture of reasons, Molly, my  wife of forty years have made a most momentous decision  to migrate to Melbourne.

That journey was made in  November 2010. Come November 2012, we would have been in Melbourne for  two years.   A Migrant’s number of  years’ stay has a lot of relevance in monetary terms in that an unbroken continuous stay of two years would earn him a HealthCard. This card determines a broad number of cost related matters. Of primary concern to most migrants would be the cost of health care.  A ten years’ stay would mean a pension.  Full details of the Health Card and Pension are found in  the  other sections of this Blog.

This Blog was created for the twin reason of keeping\ a sort of journal of our new life in Melbourne. It may also be of interest to similarly placed Malaysians  who may have intention to migrate.   We will  try, in as systematic fashion as possible cover all the grounds cataloguing the steps necessary to make for  a successful relocation from Malaysia to   Melbourne.
